{"id":211,"date":"2013-04-21T14:55:15","date_gmt":"2013-04-21T18:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jeddoumc.org\/?p=211"},"modified":"2013-04-21T14:55:15","modified_gmt":"2013-04-21T18:55:15","slug":"audio-sermon-4-14-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jeddoumc.org\/?p=211","title":{"rendered":"Audio Sermon 4-14-13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Humongous Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/jeddoumc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-14-13.mp3\" rel=\"shadowbox[sbpost-211];player=flv;width=500;height=0;\">4-14-13<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h3>Saul\u2019s Conversion<\/h3>\n<h3>Acts 9:1-20<\/h3>\n<p>1 Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord\u2019s followers.\u00a0So he went to the high priest.<\/p>\n<p><sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them\u2014both men and women\u2014back to Jerusalem in chains.<\/p>\n<p><sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him.<\/p>\n<p><sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,\u00a0\u201cSaul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cWho are you, lord?\u201d Saul asked.<\/p>\n<p>And the voice replied,\u00a0\u201cI am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!<\/p>\n<p><sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone\u2019s voice but saw no one!<\/p>\n<p><sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus.<\/p>\n<p><sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.<\/p>\n<p><sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>Now there was a believer<sup>[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=acts%209:1-20&amp;version=NLT#fen-NLT-27191b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling,\u00a0\u201cAnanias!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, Lord!\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n<p><sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>The Lord said,\u00a0\u201cGo over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.<\/p>\n<p><sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cBut Lord,\u201d exclaimed Ananias, \u201cI\u2019ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers\u00a0in Jerusalem!<\/p>\n<p><sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>But the Lord said,\u00a0\u201cGo, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.<\/p>\n<p><sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name\u2019s sake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, \u201cBrother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>Instantly something like scales fell from Saul\u2019s eyes, and he regained his sight.
